WATER: Non-payment of the water bill is cause for withholding water service. TRSUD withholds water service by shutting off the water meter. The customer may cause the water service to be restored by paying the accumulated past-due water service charges including late payment fee and service call fee of $25.00.
Customers who attempt to restore water service themselves are subject to criminal prosecution for theft of public service.
Occasionally, a customer may feel that their water bill has been inaccurately calculated. This may be due to questions regarding the accuracy of the meter reading. Water usage is determined by subtracting last month s meter reading from the current reading. Water usage is calculated to the nearest 100 gallons based on the meter readings. If a meter reading is inaccurate this month, a re-read of the meter can correct an inaccurate bill. An inaccurate low reading of last month s bill can also cause an inaccurate bill for the previous month (an inordinately low bill), and for the current month (an inordinately high bill). For either a inordinately low bill or an inordinately high bill, customers are encouraged to contact the TRSUD office for meter re-reads for the current month.
If a re-read of the current months meter reading does not satisfy a customer s concerns, the water meter can be removed and tested. For water meters that are removed and tested and prove to be inaccurate by more than 5%, the cost of removal, testing, and replacement with a new meter is borne by TRSUD. For water meters that prove to be accurate, the cost of removal, testing, and re-installation is borne by the customer. In order for a meter to be tested, the customer is required to pay a deposit of $50.00 to cover testing costs. If the meter proves inaccurate, the deposit is refunded to the customer.
Re-reads of customer meters must be requested within 5 days of receipt of the customer bill, as noted on the bill. No re-reads of customer meters will be made after the re-read deadline?

The customer may cause the sewer service to be restored by paying the accumulated past-due sewer service charges including late payment fee and service call fee of $25.00 for restoring water service.
