Billing Terms & Conditions WATER: Non-payment of the water bill is cause for withholding water service. TRSUD withholds water service by shutting off the water meter. The customer may cause the water service to be restored by paying the accumulated past-due water service charges,current charges, including late payment fee and service call fee of $50.00. Customers who attempt to restore water service themselves are subject to criminal prosecution for theft of public service. If a reading of the current months meter reading does not satisfy a customers concerns, the water meter can be removed and tested. For water meters that are removed and tested and prove to be inaccurate by more than 5%, the cost of removal, testing, and replacement with a new meter is borne by TRSUD. For water meters that prove to be accurate, the cost of removal, testing, and re-installation is borne by the customer. In order for a meter to be tested, the customer is required to pay a deposit of $100.00 to cover testing costs. If the meter proves inaccurate, the deposit is refunded to the customer. Tryon Road Special Utility District has recently installed new electronic meters. Our staff is now able to record data from each meter. If there is a question about the usage of water for a fee of $25.00 we are able to pull a data log report that will show water consumption.
