Water Supply

Tryon Road Special Utility District's Board of Directors is pleased to announce the completion of a ten year project to bring treated water to its customers.  Ten years ago TRSUD's directors made the dicision to enter into a study with Northeast Texas Municipal Water District (NETMWD) to determine the feasibility of constructiing a potable water supply line some 33 miles from Lake O the Pines.  This water supply line was to supply potable water to various entitiees willing to participate in the project.  Ultimately NETMWD, Ore City, Diana Special Utility District and Tryon Road Special Utility District were the final participants and came to be known as the Lake of the Pines southside Steering Committee which consisted of representatives from each of the aparticipating entities.

At the same time some ten years ago the Board of Directors of TRSUD knew that gaining this new water supply would be a commitment from the TRSUD to ensure it had the necessary infrastructure to distribute this water supply to its customers.  TRSUD over the last ten years has made a 4 million dollar investment in its infrastructure to ensure the delivery of this water.

We are pleased to announce that in January 2009 TRSUD is now receiving treated water from Lake of the Pines ( Northeast Texas Municipal Water District).

The District provides water service to approximately 1950 customers located in northeast Gregg County and a small portion of Harrison County located along FM 449 near the Gregg County-Harrison County boundary. TRSUD has been granted the sole authority to provide water service in the TRSUD service area by the State of Texas through a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity. Questions regarding the availability of and conditions of water service within the service area should be directed to the TRSUD office.

The water service provided by TRSUD is regulated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). TRSUD complies with all applicable rules and regulations of the TCEQ and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).

Sanitary Sewer Disposal Service

TRSUD provides sanitary sewer (wastewater) disposal service to approximately 300 customers located in more densely populated areas generally along US Highway 259. These areas include the Hunters Creek Subdivision, Rambling Creek Subdivision, and University Business Park development. TRSUD has been granted the sole authority to provide sanitary sewer service in the TRSUD sanitary sewer service area by the State of Texas through a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity. Questions regarding the availability of and conditions of service within the service area should be directed to the TRSUD office.

Note: Residents of The Woodlands, located on Airline Road north of Hawkins Parkway receive water service from TRSUD, but are customers of the City of Longview for sewer service. This is the result of an agreement made between the City of Longview and the developer of The Woodlands some years ago.
